Abstract

This paper discusses in detail immunization and vaccines. A list of vaccine-preventable diseases (measles, mumps, rubella, smallpox, etc.), vaccination side effects, factors affecting immunity, contraindications to vaccination and precautions to immunization are given. Immunization concepts during special circumstances, such as in pregnancy or human immunodeficiency virus infection, are also mentioned.
