Analysis of factors affecting development dairy goat business in Hamparan Perak District of Deli Serdang Regency North Sumatera Province

Abstract

Goat farming become a main business, because goats breed relative quickly and are one of the types of livestock that are familiar with farming systems sustainability in rural areas. In the province of North Sumatra, in particular the Hamparan Perak sub-district, they have started to cultivate dairy goats. The research aims are to analyze what factors are the weaknesses, strengths, opportunities and threats in influencing thedevelopment of the dairy goat business in Hamparan Perak District; and to analyze and determine the effect of goat breeding factors, cage management, animal feed, maintenance, and harvesting systems on dairy goat business in Hamparan Perak District. The type of research used in this research is descriptive quantitative.The results showed that the factors that influenced the development of the dairy goat business in Hamparan Perak sub-district were the availability of breeds, cage management, animal feed management and harvesting systems and product marketing; and Simultaneously, goat breeds (X1), cage management (X2), animal feed (X3), goat care (X4) and harvesting system (X5) have an effect on dairy goat business (Y), while partially influencing variables are goat breeds (X1), Animal feed (X3) and goat care (X4).
