Monograph on historical child care and child labour practices with regard to homeless children in Ireland for the period from 1700 to 1900 - discusses the foundling hospitals, educational system, early orphanages and bible societies, development of the poor law system, emigration to Australia, training and religious practice, working conditions, etc., And comments on related legislation.
