Abstract

Three impressive and well tried demonstrations of chemiluminescence in the use of ozone as oxidant are shown. The experiments can be presented even in larger rooms with only slight darkening. The mechanism is the reaction of ozone with a phenazine dye, a luminophor and- for the first time - with ruthenium-organyl-complexes. Additional to the description of the experiments the mechanism of the reaction are described best possible and same historic and theoretic aspects are covered as well. © 2007 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co.
