Selection of suitable locations for nautical tourism ports in the Ličko-senjska County

Abstract

Nautical tourism has become an increasingly popular way of respite, and for a country possessed of nautical capacities it represents a very important factor in the development of tourism in general. Strategy for the development of nautical tourism for the period 2009-2019 has predicted a special nautical capacity growth for the Ličko-senjska County, which is not particularly abundant in nautical capacities. In accordance with the respective spatial plans, also containing decisions adopted in respect of future development of nautical tourism, there were five proposed locations taken in account in this paper for the selection of a suitable location in the Ličko-senjska County. Using the multi-criteria analysis and the VISUAL PROMETHEE software program, location 1-Novalja was selected as the most suitable one. The contribution of this work is primarily reflected upon the analysis of previous research works and the adoption of possible measures for further development of nautical tourism in the Ličko-senjska County.
