Eigenmodes degeneracy with Huygens-like all-dielectric metasurface

Abstract

The spectrum of the free space is double degenerated. One of the possible eigenmodes bases is right-and left-handed circularly polarized plane waves. All classical bulk optics is based on this fact, e.g. Polarizers and interferometers. Surface eigenmodes can be degenerated only for several fixed frequencies. This work focuses on the development of a metasurface design, which enables to support the broadband degeneracy of surface eigenmodes spectrum. The final results can become the significant milestone towards the switching to at optics.
