Design a new manufacturing model: Cloud manufacturing

Abstract

Cloud computing is a general term for anything that involves delivering hosted services over the Internet, meanwhile which is a kind of methodology that can be applied in manufacturing. To solve more complex manufacturing problems and perform larger scale collaborative manufacturing, a new manufacturing model names Cloud Manufacturing is presented. It can be decomposed into four layers: physical layer, cloud Layer, semantic web layer and application layer. In this paper, it is focus on the business of this model, including cloud computing platform and cloud customer. At last, we make a conclusion and put forward the future work. © 2013 Springer Science+Business Media.
