Chronic inflammatory skin disorders: understanding pathophysiology antherapeutic challenges

Abstract

Chronic inflammatory diseases are characterized by persistent inflammation and a dysregulated immune response. In chronically inflamed tissue, immune cell subtypes and structural cells undergo transformation, leading to tissue destruction that can persist for months or even years. Addressing and preventing chronic inflammatory skin diseases is therefore crucial. This review explores major chronic inflammatory skin diseases, their pathophysiology, and current and potential treatments. Understanding these mechanisms and therapeutic challenges offers promising paths for managing and preventing chronic inflammatory skin conditions.
