Abstract

In the present investigation, linear free vibration of functionally graded carbon nanotube reinforced composite spherical shell cap is studied using the finite element method based on a higher-order shear deformation theory. An eight noded degenerated isoparametric element with nine degrees of freedom at each node is considered. The first 10 natural frequencies for various volume fractions are presented for simply supported and clamped boundary conditions.
