Abstract

This study aimed to uncover the challenges facing small projects financed by Jordanian Islamic banks (Safwa Islamic Bank) and their impact on the developmental role of these projects. To achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher used the descriptive analytical approach, where the main data for the study was collected by designing a questionnaire for this purpose. The study sample included (139) project owners and it was conducted in the period from the end of 2019 to the beginning of 2020. The results of this study indicate that the challenges facing small enterprises are within the medium level, while the developmental, economic and social roles of small enterprises are at a high level. In addition, the study shows that the challenges affecting the developmental role of small enterprises are the challenges associated with the financing institutions, followed by the challenges related to the owners of these projects (clients), while the challenges of the project itself have no effect on the developmental role of these projects.
