Serum protein and enzyme polymorphism and leptospirosis of pigs of Polish Large White breed

Abstract

Data from 824 Large White pigs on two farms showed that pigs secreting Pra AB or BB and Akp AB had a lower rate of leptospira infection than pigs producing Pra AA and Akp BB or BC. There was also a lower infection rate in pigs heterozygous for Hpx than homozygotes and a higher infection rate in homozygous Hpx 1-1 pigs than in the other homozygotes.
