Autoridad, soledad y mundo: un diálogo entre Jaspers y Arendt

Abstract

This article explores the philosophical relationship between Hannah Arendt and Karl Jaspers through the idea of authority, which was a partial counterpoint to the influence of Heidegger. Jaspers developed a philosophy of existence based on the concept of communication and openness to the Other, and engaged with politics and the present in general. Arendt nevertheless eventually distanced herself from his thinking when she concluded that Jaspers’ thought did not attain the necessary dimension of plurality.Este artículo explora la relación filosófica entre Arendt y Jaspers desde la idea de autoridad, en parte como contrapunto de la influencia ejercida por Heidegger. Jaspers desarrolló una filosofía de la existencia fundada en el concepto de comunicación y abierta a la figura del otro que estaba comprometida con la política y el presente en general. Sin embargo, Arendt se desmarcará más tarde de su pensamiento al considerar que Jaspers no llega a alcanzar la verdadera dimensión de la pluralidad.
