Begoniaceae of the Santa Lúcia Biological Station, municipality of Santa Teresa, Espírito Santo State, Brazil. The present floristic study on Begoniaceae family was carried out in the Santa Lúcia Biological Station (EBSL), Santa Teresa municipality, Espírito Santo state, Brazil. The family Begoniaceae, represented in Brazil only by the genus Begonia, with about 240 taxa, has the majority of its species restricted to tropical moist forests. In the EBSL 12 species were found: B. admirabilis Brade, B. angularis Raddi, B. convolvulacea (Klotzsch) A.DC., B. cucullata Willd, B. digitata Raddi, B. fischeri Schrank, B. fruticosa (Klotzsch) A.DC. , B. aff. reniformis Dryand., B. ruschii L.Kollmann, B. santoslimae Brade, B. solananthera A.DC. and B. valdensium A.DC. An identification key for the species is provided, followed by descriptions with illustrations and comments about geographic distribution.
