Abstract

In the current era of industrial revolution 4.0, where technology has become the basis of human life, media in learning significantly impacts the teaching and learning process. E-module is one media that can help students learn independently, designed in a structured and innovative manner. This study aims to improve student learning outcomes, motivate students, see the relationship between motivation and learning outcomes, and student responses to the use of chemistry e-modules in non-metal inorganic chemistry learning, the subject of carbon and silicon. The research design used was in the form of Pre-Experimental Design research in the form of One-Shot Case Study Design with a sample of 25 students from the 2019/2020 class. Instruments in this study used learning outcomes tests and questionnaires to measure student motivation and responses. Data were analyzed using N-gain analysis and Pearson Correlation test. The results showed that the chemical e-modules effectively improved student learning outcomes. It indicates that the average pre-test score obtained by students was 42.2, the post-test average was 83.4, and the average N-gain value was 0.724 in the category high N-gain. The use of chemistry e-modules can also motivate students. There was a positive correlation between motivation and learning outcomes, and student responses to chemistry e-modules are also very good.
