Abstract

This article serves as a summary for the special issue of Consulting Psychology Journal: Practice and Research on the “State of Progress in Diversity and Inclusion Initiatives,” focusing on the application of the principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion to the practice of consulting psychology. Implications for addressing consulting process issues, research gaps, and ongoing training needs are discussed. (PsycInfo Database Record (c) 2020 APA, all rights reserved) What’s It Mean? Implications for Consulting Psychology—This special issue of Consulting Psychology Journal presents six articles on the topics of equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI). One group of articles focuses on the content of consulting EDI topics, whereas another group of articles focuses on the process of consulting on EDI topics. The authors of this article summarize three fundamental themes that can help consulting psychologists improve their work in this area: evolving terminology, emerging trends, and training needs.
