Abstract

Botulism is a rare, but sometimes fatal, presynaptic neuromuscular toxic disorder. It has three classic major types, food-borne, infant, and wound botulism, and an emerging form, iatrogenic botulism. This chapter discusses the etiology, pathogenesis, diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis of botulism and its various types.
