Abstract

The geology of Sangiran was shaped by the combined influence of endogenous and exogenous forces. This study has demonstrated that the location of Sangiran is surrounded by stratovolcanic formations, which contain magnetic material and evidence of land uplift. In the Manyarejo Cluster, the sole sedimentary outcrop exhibiting a riverine flow pattern has been identified. The distribution of magnetic susceptibility values has been subjected to analysis and is being used as an initial indicator of the magnetic character of the sediments in question. VSM analysis yielded a hysteresis curve indicating that the sediment samples are ferromagnetic and derived from hematite minerals. The XRF analysis revealed that the sediment sample is composed of compounds and oxide groups of Al, Si, K, Ca, Ti, and Fe. The XRD diffractogram results indicate the presence of hematite (Fe2O3), anorthite (CaAl2Si2O8), and orthoclase (KAlSi3O8) minerals. The analysis and a review of the literature confirm that the sediments in the Manyarejo Cluster are predominantly composed of basaltic rocks with minimal andesite rock content. The pattern observed in the outcrop is the result of the traces of river flow that ceased due to a combination of endogenous and exogenous forces.
