Abstract

Two closely related bivalves, Venerupis semidecussata and V. variegata, so far distinguished by the morphology of shell but unsatisfactorily, were found to possess distinctly differentiated such soft organs as form of siphon, siphonal tentacles and shape of sperm-head. Writer's finding reveals the clear-cut difference between the two species. © 1952, The Japanese Society of Fisheries Science. All rights reserved.
