APLICAÇÃO DE FERRAMENTAS DO PROGRAMA DE PRODUÇÃO MAIS LIMPA NA GESTÃO DE RESÍDUOS DE UMA FUNDIÇÃO

Abstract

Nowadays, the industry is trying to minimize the environmental impact of their processes because of the market pressure or the society through state environmental protection agencies or non-governmental organizations. As a result of that, the application of several methodologies of environmental management has been incorporated in production routine. One of those methodologies is the Cleaner Production Program. It is carried out an evaluation of the different waste generation in foundry based on a small Company of the Rio Grande do Sul State, which does not have an established environmental management. The present investigation collaborates in the visualization and identification of the causes of waste generation and its negative impacts on the environmental, technical and economical point of view, presenting suggestions based on cleaner production tools, such as good housekeeping, waste minimization, and waste segregation.
