Abstract
The current lull in negotiations following the coming into effect of the Agreement on Textiles and Clothing is discussed. As far as the EU is concerned, the next burst of negotiations is expected in 1996 when consultations will begin on the products to be integrated into the system in 1998. Trends in European textiles manufacture and trading are discussed.
