Abstract

Five new genera, Bipuncticoris, Kiwi- miris, Monopharsus, Tuicoris, and Wekamiris, and 22 new species of endemic New Zealand Mirinae, Mirini are described and figured. The 14 new species of Bipuncticoris are: cassinianus, chlorus, con- vexus, gurri, irroratus, lineatus, longicerus, minor, olearinus, planus, robustus, triplex, vescus, and xestus. The five new species of Kiwimiris are: bipunctatus, coloratus, concavus, melanocerus, and niger. A single new species is described for three genera—Monopharsus annulatus, Tuicoris excelsus, and Wekamiris auropilosus. Keys to species of Bipuncticoris and Kiwimiris are provided. Biological information on host plants is given. A distinctive character in the vesica of species of Bipuncticoris is a sclerite bearing a single ring of large spines. © The Royal Society of New Zealand 1995.
