This trial aimed to evaluate the nutritive value of white oat (IPR 126), black oat (IAPAR 61), common black oat, common annual ryegrass and dual purpose wheat (BRS Tarumã), sowed on different dates (4th and 24th April, May 14th, and June 3rd 2008). Randomized completely block design was used with four replicates. Cutting regime was done according to sward surface height target, varying to each forage species, as well as stubble height. Harvested material was analyzed in terms of crude protein content (CP), neutral detergent fiber (NDF) and total digestible nutrients (TDN). There was significant interaction between sowing dates and forage species over all nutritive variables analyzed. CP and TDN of oats and ryegrass were higher in early sowing dates, and NDF content increased in the latest sowing dates. On the contrary, BRS 'Tarumã' had lesser nutritive value in earliest sowing date.
