Abstract

Blastopsylla gen. n. contains 9 new species: B. moorei (type‐species), B. brunnea and B. bivittata from eastern Australia; B. adnatariae, B. multisetulae and B. octosetulae from South Australia; B. occidentalis and B. nigricollaris from Western Australia; and B. degluptae from Papua New Guinea. These insects feed on the growing tips of Eucalyptus, and some species also on related myrtaceous hosts. B. occidentals has become established in New Zealand and California.
