Abstract
Chromatographic separation and spectral analysis were performed to separate and identify the chemical components of the roots of Gymnotheca chinensis, respectively. Four compounds were isolated and identified as 5-decanoyl-2-nonyl pyridine (1), stigmastan-3,6-dione (2), stigmast-4-en-3,6-dione (3) and daucosterol (4). Compounds 1∼3 were obtained from this genus for the first time. Compounds 1-3 showed cytotoxic activity on human hepatoma (SMMC-7721 and Hep3B) cell lines.
