Abstract

In this paper we develop methods to remove the atmospheric effects on ground radiance distribution. One method applies to satellite data, i.e. the case where the remote sensor is above the atmospheric layer. The other is designed for airplane data, i.e. the case where the remote sensor is inside of the atmospheric layer. We consider a 3-D radiative transfer model and solve an inverse problem. The results are suitable for large computer computation. © 1987.
