In this contribution the out-migration from Eastern to Western Germany from 1991 to 2004 is analysed. The focus lies on its age-selectivity, i.e. the diverse age-composition of migration by direction and intensity. After an overview on the migration flows between Eastern and Western Germany the age-selectivity is analysed regarding time, sex and space. A simulation of the age-structural effects of the Eastern German out-migration closes the analysis.
