Abstract

• The invention provides a process for the prepn. of 3,5-diamino-4-chlorobenzoic acid iso-Bu ester, which comprises reacting 4-chlorobenzoic acid with HNO3 in the presence of H2SO4, esterifying the resultant acid with isobutanol using H2SO4 as catalyst, and reducing the generated dinitro compd. with Fe/glacial acetic acid.
