Abstract

This paper describes processes adopted to enhance the research culture of one Australian university's school of nursing and midwifery. A vignette outlines the impetus for actions and explicates the methods adopted to facilitate change. Transformational leadership and contingency theory are used to analyze the methods employed to develop novice nurse academics' capacity to undertake research as part of a larger team.
