Abstract

The main aim of the present study was to estimate the fertilization parameters in male rats by using methanolic leaf extract of WalsuraPiscidia. The animals were divided into three groups of ϑive animals each. The ϑirst group (I) served as control and received normal saline remaining Groups (II & III) were treated with plant extract at a dose of 200 & 400 mg/kg p.o. Respectively for a period of 21 days. Dose-dependent signiϑicant decrease in the weight of testes & epididymis was observed. Also, a dose-related reduction in sperm count and motility was observed. In conclusion, the methanolic leaf extract of WalsuraPiscidia has produced dose-dependent antifertility effect o male rats.
