Abstract

The present study aimed to determine the enlargement capacity of the broiler chicken production in farms of the municipal district of Rio Verde, Goiás, Brazil, based on the broiler litter utilization capacity like manuring source in the own property. Through questionnaires information about the quantity of lodged birds and the size of the were collected. To determine the broiler litter utilization capacity, three technological levels (low, intermediate and high) were considered. Considering the simulation with low technological level (utilization of 1.8 tons of broiler litter/ha/year) possibilities to increase the number of shelds in none of the farms searched. Also, there is broiler litter production regarding 244 sheds above of the utilization capacity. For the intermediate technology level (4.4 tons broiler litter/ha/year) 24 sheds could be installed in own farms. However, in others, occurred an excess of broiler litter production of 161 sheds. Finally, in relation to the third technological level (8.7 tons broiler litter/ha/year), in increase of sheds could be done while in some properties, in others an the production of 96 sheds could occur.
