Abstract

[Title: Factors That Affect The Development of Home-Based Convection Industries in Tingkir Lor]. Tingkir Lor is well-known as the center of home-based convection industry that has been established since the 1970s and still exists today. This local economic activity turned out to contribute greatly to the household income of the local community of Tingkir Lor, however currently other convection industry businesses outside Tingkir Lor from both domestic and overseas have been established to make competition in the sales market even harder. Besides, the education of business owners of home-based convection industries in Tingkir Lor is low, the use of technology is also still relatively lacking. Its products seems tend to be monotonous. The aim of the study is to identify the factors that affect the development of the home-based convection industry in Tingkir Lor. This study uses descriptive analysis, crosstab analysis accompanied by Chi-square test and supported by qualitative data from the results of interviews. The results show that the factors that influence the development of this business are mainly internal factors, which are the quality of business products, marketing location coverage, capital constraints, and education level of business owners, while external factor affecting the development of this business is infrastructure condition including road condition, electricity network, and telecommunication network.
