Abstract
This research was conducted at the experimental farm, Faculty of Agriculture UPN "Veteran" East Java, Surabaya, from March 2016 to July 2016. This study aims to determine the effect of various organic materials in making the composition of the growing media on growth and yield of mustard. Materials oragnik used is compost, straw, corn leaves and paper Data were analyzed using a completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 replications, and treatments as many as five types, namely: K0 = Soil, K1 = Soil: Compost (2: 1); K2 = Soil: Compost: Straw (2: 1: 1); K3 = Soil: Compost: Leaves Corn (2: 1: 1); K4 = Soil: Compost: Paper (2: 1: 1). The results showed that the composition of the growing medium is best Q4 Soil: Compost: Paper (2: 1: 1). Mustard plants with growing media composition K4, able to increase the number of leaves by 25%, the length of 18.23.5% and the plant fresh weight of mustard sebesear 40.31%, 26.63% root length and number of roots 17:32% compared to using a planting medium ground (K0)
