Sociological Study of the Role of Information Technology in Creating Social Networks

Abstract

The purpose of this study was analytical study,effect of the most important present event, which is informationtechnology on formation of new type of human communication,and design a model on the relation between persons and type ofsociety. This paper, relying on the literature of sociology inrelation to the society and technology. The theoretical framework of this study is borrowed from Castells's theory. Usingexisting documents and comments sociologists in this fieldwas the study guide. The results show that this newcommunication channels, provides a link that gives shape to life,and accept forms from life. With accelerating speed ofinformation technology, there is reshaping, foundations ofsociety. Culture is formed by the symbols, which are formeddue to electronics.The development of informal communication andparticipation in social networks, through the formation of peergroups and networks of community-based with the aim tostrengthen social skills. Because people fellowship in the socialnetwork and informal communication with values and normsof other society and virtual culture. Also, the economy, doesnot depend to money, such as past, but it is dependent oninformation, and social capital, is related to rate of thiscommunication, in society. Therefore, understanding thecommunity, is not possible, without electronic instruments.
