Abstract

This project is sponsored by the company Whirlpool of India Limited, situated at Ranjanga on MIDC, Pune. The company is going to launch a new model of refrigerator. In that model they have introduced VACCUM INSULATED PANEL (VIP) inside the product to reduce the heat load on compressor. The VIP of type A has been used which is having thickness of 32 mm. The product weight has been increased by 25% along with increased in door weight. The function of VIPisto provide bette rinsulation than any other conventional insulation materials. Due to addition of VI Pand increase in weight of product there will be effect on structure of refrigeration. The present work focuses on structural/Experimental testing of product, simulation of Freezer Compartment (FC) & Refrigerator Compartment (RC) door for door sag, analytical calculation of door sag & validating the result.
