Abstract

This study aims to describe and reveal the quality of education, strategic steps and the implications of the principal's strategy in improving the quality of education at 1 Mojokerto Vocational High School. This study uses a qualitative research approach with a research design using a case study. where in data collection taken from observations, interviews, and documentation about the data in accordance with the research. This study found the following: (1) The quality of education at SMKN 1 Mojokerto includes 8 national education standards, in addition to assessing the quality of education, schools also use graduate competency standards, which means that the quality of education can be said to be good if the graduates can be accepted in society both in the business world and the industrial world. (2) Strategic steps taken by the principal in improving the quality of education at SMKN 1 Mojokerto are making policies, such as a) BMW (Work, Continue, Entrepreneurship), b) Increase the capacity of human resources (students and teachers), c) Renewal of facilities and infrastructure. (3) Implications for students and institutions from the implementation of the principal's strategy in improving the quality of education at SMKN 1 Mojokerto, namely for the outcome (students), namely students experience ease of acceptance in the world of work, this is due to a professional certificate issued by the LSP Profession), while the output (institution) is that students of SMKN 1 have won achievements in the academic field, namely successfully winning LKS (Student Competency Competition) and non-academic achievements, namely winning O2SN (National Student Sports Olympiad) so that it can improve the image of the institution in the community.
