Abstract

Presents a collection of abstracts on "Family Interventions". Some of the abstracts are: "Does adjunctive family therapy enhance recovery from bipolar I mood episodes?" by I. W. Miller et al. In this study family therapy consisted of a therapist meeting together with a study patient and his or her family members. Specifically, the therapist provided problem-centred systems therapy of the family. "Treatment of child neglect: a systematic review" by H. Allin, et al. This article systematically evaluates the available evidence regarding the effectiveness of child neglect treatment programmes, including those focused on victims of childhood neglect and (or) their caregivers. "Family therapy treatment: working with obese children and their families with small steps and realistic goals" by Y. Peterson examines the use of solution-focused brief therapy and systemic family therapy in situations where practitioners feel they are having little impact or that the patient seems resistant. "Introduction to medical family therapy" by I. Wirtberg. This article proposes a family therapy approach, indicating a generally wider interest in the possibilities of working therapeutically with families experiencing medical treatment.
