Abstract

The article presents information on the challenges and opportunities facing the technical services offered by libraries in 2005. The challenges include the user expectations for the electronic and digital services, the changes in technology and the limitations due to budget scrutiny. There are many formats in which the services can be provided, one of which is the Machine-Readable Cataloging format.
