Abstract

Actual strategies to delay progression of diabetic nephropathy provide imperfect protection when started late in the course of the disease. Ohtomo et al. now demonstrate that thiazolidinedione treatment was associated with a remarkable improvement in proteinuria and renal function, offering a new potential treatment for diabetic nephropathy. © 2007 International Society of Nephrology.
