Biofilms affect many industries and our daily lives. Their formation and growth processes have common essential factors, but some of their components differ from one environment to another. Biofilms have a negative side in that they cause many problems. However, on a positive note, they provide benefits if used properly and effectively. Therefore, it is very important to be able to control biofilm formation and growth. In this chapter paper, we describe future trends for the research and applications of biofilms and the types of results that we can expect.
