The Gram-negative Klebsiella pneumonia is a clinically relevant pathogen that has the propensity to acquire multidrug resistance (MDR), thus limiting the therapeutic options for treating related infections such as pneumonia, liver abscess, meningitis, bloodstream infections, and urinary tract infections (UTIs). This study was aimed to evaluate the hyper virulent isolates of Klebsiella pneumonia isolated from urinary tract infections according to their antibiotic resistance and constituents of virulence genes. The populations of this study included (80) patients with different age groups who attended Baquba Teaching Hospital and Al-batool Teaching Hospital in Diyala Province. Collection of urine samples from patients suffering from urinary tract infections. Isolation and identification of Klebsiella pneumonia isolates by culture methods and standard biochemical tests. Detection of the antibiotic resistance of bacterial isolates to different antibiotics. Selection of the multidrug resistance isolates and studying the MIC of the most drugs of choice antibiotics. Molecular detection of virulent genes/ β- Lactamase and same virulence gene. This study included (80) patients with different age groups who attended Baquba Teaching Hospital and Al-batool Teaching Hospital in Diyala Province. Collection of urine samples from patients suffering from urinary tract infections. Isolation and identification of Klebsiella pneumonia. The results as in Table (1) showed that the number of sensitive bacterial isolate was 12(42.9%) Klebsiella pneumonia, 5(17.9%) Acinetobacter. Spp, 6(21.4%) E. coli and 5(17.9%) others within sensitive and resistant. While the result showed that the number of resistant bacteria isolate was Klebsiella pneumonia 4(22.2%), 8(44.4%) Acinetobacter Spp, 4(22.2%) E. coli and 2(11.1%). Klebsiella pneumonia, Staphylococcus aureus and E.coli were the most resistant microorganism to meropenem drug in Baquba Teaching Hospital and Al-batool Teaching Hospital. Klebsiella pneumonia was more resistant in patients with UTI.
