Abstract

The characteristic particle mixing, high rate of heat and mass transfer and continuity of solid processing are the main advantages of fluidized systems for ultra high temperature operations with dense particulates. The association of plasma generators with such systems is examined in this paper from various points of view: applications, hydrodynamics, heat and mass transfer, chemical engineering. Fluidized and spouted beds reactors are presented as well as the original properties of these systems with respect to classical one. © 1994, Walter de Gruyter. All rights reserved.
