Abstract

The 400 species names of Plagiochila recorded from Australasia and some island groups of the Pacific Ocean are listed alphabetically. Each is provided with the reference to its original publication and information on the location of the types. For synonyms, the correct name of the species is indicated, and, for the recognised species, illustrations are cited. The recognised species in Australasia and the Pacific island groups are listed alphabetically with synonyms. Of the 114 species, 29 are also found in south-east Asia. Four new synonyms are proposed. © 2001 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
