CHARACTER EDUCATION AND ISLAMIC EDUCATION IN THE ERA OF SOCIETY 5.0

Abstract

This research aims to describe character education and Islamic education in the Era of Society 5.0. The research method used is library research. The research results show that amidst the challenges of the Era of Society 5.0, Islamic education requires the application of character learning using an integrative-interconnective strategy cycle model in character learning and the application of an educational approach known as 4C (Creativity, Critical Thinking, Communication, and Collaboration). In addition, to realize Islamic education in the 5.0 era, the following methods are needed: interaction between educators and students, as well as between students, has increased; the number of learning resources available is not limited; literacy that is properly cultivated will help to improve the quality of graduates and the quality of educational institutions; the creation of learning communities that interact with each other, give and take, and are not limited to one location; and increased quality because it allows for broader and even unlimited information searches.
