Abstract

Papaya leaf contains an active substances, i.e. papain that can control worm and pest effectively. It also can be contact poison for pest. This research aims to know the reduction of armyworms (Spodoptera) on mustard greens (Brassica juncea) by giving the extract of papaya leaf (Carica papaya L.) and kipahit leaf (Tithonia diversifolia) to prevent chemical pest poisoning on farmers. This is an experimental research with The Only Controlled Group design. Statistic test for this research is Anova test with 95% confidence interval and significance value 0,007<0,05. The conclusion of this research is there is papaya leaf extract can reduce Spodoptera effectively. Meanwhile, kipahit leaf extract cannot reduce Spodoptera effectively, with 0,068 significance value.
