Zehneria species have enormous ethno-botanical value and are used by different tribes for food as wild edible plants and treatment of various ailments. The present study was designed to carry out the preliminary phytochemical screening, total phenol, flavonoid quantification followed by an investigation of the in vitro antioxidant activities of Zehneria maysorensis. Phytochemical analysis showed the presence of saponins, steroids, alkaloids, phenols and tannins. Ethanol extracts of stem and leaf showed maximum phenol and flavonoid content. The extract also confirmed DPPH radical scavenging activity. A marked dose dependent antioxidant activity was observed in the trials.
