POVERTY ALLEVIATION THROUGH ZAKAT DISTRIBUTION AND IMPROVEMENT OF ISLAMIC HUMAN DEVELOPMENT INDEX

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze the effect of zakat distribution and Islamic human development index on poverty level. This research was conducted in 17 regencies / cities in South Sumatra Province with a research sample using criteria so that 14 regencies / cities in South Sumatra Province were obtained with the observation year 2022 - 2024. The analysis technique uses panel data regression using the STATA 17 application. The results showed that zakat distribution has a significant effect on poverty levels, Islamic human development index has a significant effect on poverty levels. Zakat distribution and Islamic human development index simultaneously affect the poverty rate. The conclusion that can be drawn is that both partially and simultaneously the distribution of zakat and Islamic human development index affect the poverty rate in the Regency / City of South Sumatra Province
