Abstract

Pseudomonas aeruginosa is one of the deadly and highly drug-resistant. The aim of the present study was isolation and identification of Pseudomonas aeruginosa from different clinical samples. A total of 100 clinical specimen have been collected from Urine, sputum samples, burn, ear, wound swabs and bronchial wash that were obtained from 100 patients include both gender and different age groups from the beginning of November 2019 to the end of February 2020. The results showed that out of 100 samples, 36 (36%) samples have been detected for Pseudomonas aeruginosa depending on the morphologic characteristics of this bacterium on the culture media and biochemical tests, which included manual, conventional, biochemical tests and automated biochemical tests such as Vitek 2 test and by using Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) technique for gyrA gene with 121 bp. The results confirmed that these isolates were belong to Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
