Abstract

Although occupational stress is a very common reality\rfor many workers, we have to admit that some professions\rgenerate a higher level of distress as, for example, management\rroles, night shift working, monotonous jobs, communitarian\rservices, heavy industry sector, mining,\rconstruction, etc. Chronic stress can disrupt behaviours\r(like foods habits) of those persons who suffer it. At the\rsame time, and in a contrary manner, eating disorders can\ralso trigger different types of stress linked pathologies. For\rthe above mentioned reasons, it is not strange that the\rdigestive system becomes in a target of stress' pathologies,\respecially associated with negative work environments.\rIn some circumstances, there is a dissociation between\rthe appetite, (primarily psychic sensation), and the hanger,\r(basically organic sensation). The appetite as a mental status\rcan be altered substantially by many different emotional\rsituations (like occupational stress) or throughout\rchemical and vascular variations as well as organic impulses\rtransmitted to midbrain from different organs where\rthe stress could also play a very relevant role.\rNutrition depends essentially on of food habits, but at\rthe same time, a very important source of stress is the way\rin which we eat, because if we do it wrongly, we can become\rill. If our cells don't receive the correct nutrients a very\rhigh level of stress is produced due to this dissatisfied\rinternal demand.
