Abstract

In this chapter are described the elements leading to the definition of Historic Indoor Microclimate, with a particular reference to the reference principles and goals of the study. The different fields of research defining HIM, the different sources that can be used, and the subsets of HIM (original indoor microclimate, OIM; subsequential indoor microclimate, SIM; actual indoor microclimate, AIM) are illustrated. Historic Indoor Microclimate configurates as aspecific research area, giving original and complete indications on heritage buildings.
