Abstract

Today, changes such as technology development, rapid population growth, and easy access to information increase the level of social welfare and increase the appeals to health services. Along with this, the orientation towards therapeutic services instead of preventive health systems and the increase in health demand enhance medical waste generation, which creates various risks in terms of human and environmental health. In this article, it is aimed to examine Zero Waste Project, which is a new approach in the management of medical wastes and disposal of these wastes in accordance with environmental health, and to evaluate within the scope of current legislation.
